Clearing incomplete downloads

How do I clear the canceled download? I have a very intermittent DSL connection and it is causing the download to stop. However, canceling the download does not clear the display.

Hi efiggy,

I think we need some clarifications here. Are you saying that downloads does not get removed from the download list in the web-ui? Or is it the incomplete content that does not get removed?

It is the incomplete download that does not get removed. I have already press the Cancel button since the download never finished or just stopped at certain percentage. I was hoping the list to disappear when clicking Cancel button, but it always stays.

Is there a way to get a Retry button?

Hi efiggy,

Ok, so the download doesn't get removed from the list then. Which version of the firmware are you running?

There could be some problems removing downloads if your internet connection drops. The download manager sends a "stopped" command to the tracker. And if you have no connection it could take some time for this to "timeout". Given enough time it should however be removed.

That said. If your internet connection comes back online, the download should restart after a little while.

My firmware version is 0.51.2-1. The downloads that I cancelled because of connection problem does not get removed from the list. The completed downloads does get removed alright. I have waited three days now. Is this enough time when you said given enough time it should however be removed? I have to tell you I have a long patience as I have waited almost 35 days before getting my bubba.

Hi,

It should of course not take days for cancel to take effect. I have tried to reproduce this but have "unfortunately" not had any success with it.

It happens when you try to cancel a download that has no progress? Other downloads work as they should in the same time? You are able to add new downloads and they work?

You could always try to restart the download manager. To do that, log in as admin in the web-ui. Select services in the menu. Uncheck Up and downloads and click update. Recheck Up and downloads and click update again.

See if that helps. Possibly cancel the download again if its still in the list.

If this does not help. Please open a support issue on this at [email protected]

After stopping and starting the up/downloads. The download list were all cleared.

I would also like to know why is the owner of the file that is presently been downloaded is root and then when the download is completed it changes to the local user. Is this normal.

Hi,

The files are initially created as owned by root. But changes ownership to the user who does the downloading as soon as the storage is allocated. So it really should change ownership a lot earliar than when the download is complete.

This is a suboptimal solution but is required for the time being because of how the new torrent library works. We will hopefully be able to change this behaviour when the next upstream release of this library is available.
