After struggling with different bittorrent clients on my beloved bubba I suggest following: Build a webinterface for rtorrent instead and integrate that with the product, instead of continue to modify ftd.

(Rtorrent runs really well now with dtach acording howtos on the forum, just dropping torrent files in a directory and it starts to download without to much resource consuming)

Its actually a good idea and we are aware of that solution, using rtorrent for this. Unfortunately the XMLRPC bindings did not exist when we started the transition. And thus where no option then.
