I'm a little uncertain about this....
I only wanted to use Bubba as a local mail server at my commune, so that me and my flatmates also can communicate electronically.
I've understood how to setup accounts at the server and it works like a breeze.
But how do I set up the clients on my LAN network to send to/ receive mails from Bubba? What are the default specs I have to fill into i.e. Thunderbird?

I guess you mean how to use email on your LAN, without reaching it from the outside?

Use IMAP, and just type "bubba" as server name. As outgoing server, also type "bubba". When prompted (at first connection), just type your Bubba user name and password.

Then just email eachother at user@bubba.

Let me know if I misunderstood the question.
