Canon PIXMA MG5250 Printer on B3

Hi guys,
I tried to install my Canon PIXMA MG5250 printer on my new B3. But the printer showed up only as RAW and when I tried to connect via my Mac, I can add the printer via AirPrint but then nothing else happened. I send a test page, the monitor on the printer lights up and then ... nothing!
Is this a driver problem or is the printer not supported?
Thanxs for an answer
Tobi

The fact that it lists as RAW means that is unsupported, but the printer manager can still forward preformatted commands to it. The question here is whether your Mac actually understands this or sends generic Postscript, expecting the print queue owner to translate to the lower level commands.
Canon does offer a download for Linux drivers for this printer, according to
this page (I hope you can read Dutch). Not sure though if that includes a driver for ARM, as Linux is mostly run on Intel type processors. Source code is provided as well, but again I would not bet on whether this will compile for ARM. It will depend on how comfortable you are with Linux if you're willing to try.

Hi Gordon,
thanks for the answer. You mean I should try to compile and install the driver directly on the B3? So that the B3 recocnize my Canon after that correctly and I probably could use it now?
I will try

That would be one approach. The second one is to make your desk-/laptop consider the printer as a locally attached printer and send RAW commands to the B3, rather than generic postscript. Either one should work; it's up to you which one you think is the easiest (or most challenging) to accomplish.
