Hi
Is it a good idea to replace the hdd with a 2.5 inch?
I found a cheap WD My Passport Ultra 2TB external hdd, I would like to take out the HDD and put it into my b2. For some reason external 2.5 inch disks are chaper than the disk only :?

My disc is a 2.5, but it had a strange bracket so the screw holes did not align and it is in the case loose (well i just taped it down). For an ssd this is no problem, just be aware that this may be possible.

normal ssd:s should be possible to mount, there is an extra hole in the motherboard for this (use any short M3 screw).

Be ware of temperature and life expectancy, some (most?) spinning 2.5" drives are not made for 24/7 usage, and cooling does not work as well as for 3.5" in our case (no direct thermal connection to shell) so check that it doesn't get too warm. Good luck!

Thank for reply. Anyway, would it be possible to run these Hdd off the USB port too for backup? I wonder if the USB got enought power output.

Yeah this generally works. The power supply of the b3 is built to support such activity
