Hi,

I recently discovered that Seagate has also released their NAS series disks (as did WD last year with its RED series). Doesn anyone have any experience with them (in relation with B3)? What about thermal and noise image, how cool and silent are they?

Does B3 support these disks and does B3 support 4TB in general? 4TB sound very interesting to me.

Regards.

Just had a look at those today and it seems that the Seagate 4TB disk spins at ~5900 RPM which is close to the B3 standard WD green drives. Power consumption however is ~1.5 times as high and one would have to expect more heat production from this. Considering that my 2TB WD green drive is running at ~50°C (with the 5 minute patch) and the Seagate 4TB drive is limited at 55°C, I would advise against using this drive.
