Of course, test carefully. Take special care of the dependencies in the comments in the beginning of the file.
I made this to start smsd (for sending and receiving text messages using a 3G dongle) using the skeleton file.
This thing I wanted to implement was not really written to be running as a proper daemon, so I had to take some precautions... Look at the start-stop-daemon arguments, you will see that there are a lot of things having to be specified there that a proper daemon should take care of itself....
This is just supplied as an example, and obviously it is based on the rather excellent skeleton file...
And you will probably not have to tweak it as much as I had to...
