B2 update to 2.4.1 stuck
Posted: 30 Jul 2012, 23:55
I recently tried to update my B2 to the 2.4.1 software image. I followed the instructions on the Wiki, setting FORMAT = 0 and PARTITION = 0 in bubba.cfg. Everything appeared to work, including the reboot: LED flashes at 1 Hz, then turns solid lit. However, the B2 does not acquire an IP address from my router's DHCP server. Today I borrowed a USB-to-SATA adapter from a friend and mounted the B2 drive on my laptop. The disk has three partitions: "Bubba root", an LVM partition, and a swap partition. I mounted the LVM partition and my /home directory is still intact. Next I went to the Bubba root, but /var/log is missing. Only /lock and /run exist under /var. Without any kind of log during Bubba boot or from the installation, I'm now totally stuck at what the next trouble-shooting step would be.
I checked out /boot and found 5 files:
8313E21.dtb
bubba.dtb
config-2.6.39.4-9
System.map-2.6.39.4.-9
uImage
Perhaps there is some clue here as to what is going wrong with the install process?
Thank you very much for any possible help,
-Forrest
