I removed a user account from bubba, but forgot to remove the mail retrieval set up for that user. (BTW, maybe thers should be a warning about that)
Now if a mail is sent to the address that bubba retrieves mail from, the sender gets a postmaster mail saying:
...
Host bubba.excito.com not found.
The following recipients did not receive this message:
<root@bubba.excito.com>
...
Can someone explain why?

Regarding the fetchmail update on removal of users. That is clearly a bug on our side. We will fix that in an upcomming release

The reason for the mail is that a bounce mail is generated when the recipient is unknown. And in part of that a mail is sent to root@bubba which today resolves to the adress you see. If you want to change this, edit the file /etc/mailname
