Possible to pause the torrent downloader?

How do one pause the torrent downloader?
I started to download a huge torrent file, and a bit surprisingly it downloads pretty quick.
Therefore I need to pause it to prevent my Internet service provider from getting mad at me.
The torrent downloader it self don't seem to have such an option.
Maybe there is a way to at least set an up/download limit to reduce the bandwidth.
I would like to keep the already downloaded part and i need to keep my B3 going since it also works as a router.
Any suggestions on what to do would be most apreciated.

you can easily change the max transfer rate of the torrents to a low level, which I think is what you want. Alternatively you can turn off the service altogether. i think this is the option "up and downloads" from the services tab in the admin GUI.

So you have an isp that doesn't like you using up your bandwidth? Wouldn't it be easier for them to simply set a lower bandwidth limit?

Well, anyways... The downloader (ftd) is quite limited, not much you can do with it. What you could do is temporarily stop entire ftd, it will continue downloading your file when you start it again. You can do this by logging into your B3 as root and running either "/etc/init.d/ftd stop" or "/etc/init.d/ftd start". Or maybe there is an option for starting/stopping ftd in the admin gui (can't check that right now)?

edit: Ok... Ignore my mumbling here... Obviously I didn't check facts before answering... Too bad ubi just gave the right answer while I was writing

Ubi:

I've just turned the service off and on again, and it picked up again where it stopped.
I would not have dared to try that, convinced that I would have lost the already downloaded part.
I also found where to adjust the bandwidth(and realized that I actualy seen it before).
I can now easily keep down the amount of data and spread it over a longer time period.

Thanks.

DanielM:

Using all the bandwidth wouldn't be a problem, however, doing so all the time, and the amount of data traffic that would create would almost certainly be a problem.

If you throttle to lets say 50k or so and your provider is still complaining you have a terrrible provider. :)
