Printer not connected anymore

I had my printer, a Canon iP2000, running perfectly with my B3. I then had to reinstall the whole b3-system and now my printer is not working anymore.
In web-gui "Attached printers" is empty.
System is up to date with latest upgrades, version 2.3.2. Printer cable is connected, I've also tried with a different one. I've done a reboot of b3 with printer connected and powered on. Nothing gets it up and running.
If I connect the printer locally to any other computer it prints fine so the machine is working.
lsusb (which wasn't installed in my b3!, I had to install usbutils) gives:
Bus 001 Device 003: ID 04a9:108d Canon, Inc. PIXMA iP2000
so it is seen by the b3.
If I remember correctly I didn't have to do anything special to get it running last time, I just plugged it in the b3 and it was immediately recognised.
What else can I try? can I manually install the printer on the b3? How?
