Hi I have a fairly big problem

I can not get dhcp to work on wan port

but if I connect from the LAN on a router then I get ip
but not from my fiber converter

I am connected to a city network

My second router receives IP directly

It's not very clear, are you trying to issue a DHCP address on the WAN port (i.e. using your Bubba as a DHCP server) or are you trying to acquire a DHCP lease on your WAN port?

I think this is this months winner of the obfuscated problem contest. I haven't the slightest clue what the original issue is .

Internet connection does not work
I get no ip address when I connect a cable from
fiber converter to the WAN port on the B3

but if I plug in B3 after another router (another dhcp server)
I get an IP address directly

but my old router get ip address directly of the fiber converter

OK. Can you tell us what you tried? Are the settings correct in the web interface?

Could it be that the "old router" was actually also a DSL modem?

Is the fiber modem actually a dhcp server? My fiber modem expects a fixed ip address

binkem you're confusing dhcp client and dhcp server. A dhcp server can expect a fixed IP address but still be a dhcp server to downstream. In this case the machine must act as a dhcp client and request an IP from upstream. THis very rarely is a hard-fixed address as it limits flexibility for the hosting provider.

No it is a Dovado 4GR


The problem now is that I have given up

B3 is certainly a very good product but
I've had a Dovado 4GR for 8 months
and it does not work yet!
I am tired of have to put so much
energy on getting a product to function

so now I intend to return it

I might buy it back later when it is
more mature

IU doubt it will never bee so "mature" that it would prevent whatever way you have set it up.

So in my opinion it's just a a matter of configuring it the correct way and/or understanding how the other components in your setting works.

You can't have 2 routers in your network, at least with B3 acting as one as far as I understand.

Kind of in a similar situation after switching to fiber last week and being confronted with a "prepped" router from the provider. Apparently the ZTE 220N is a fabulous router, but not after they touched it and added blocks to prevent me changing anything. To make a long story short: I want to swap that piece of garbage with the B3.

So how hard can it be? Plug the B3 in after adding PPPoE and allow it to find the modem (NT). No problem, but also no IP address
