Other email webinterface?

Hi,
did anyone try to install a different webmail interface instead of Ilohamail?

Why do I ask - I had a look at it and found a problem:

When I visited the ilohamail webpage, the project seems a bit inactive and the website itself is full of spam (in the forums).

Would e.g. Squirrelmail be okay to run?

Hi,

When looking purely at dependencies Squirrelmail should indeed work. It is available prepackaged in Debian.

If you try it please tell us what you think :) I know that we did look at it at some time but doesn't remember why we didn't chose it.

Hi,
so... I tried :-)

Good thing:
- the webinterface shows the correct date / time for the emails I copied to the Bubba Dovecot IMAP Server,
- it works ...

But I got the impression, that its a bit slower compared to Iloha Mail.
Unfortunately neither Iloha Mail nor Squirrelmail knows about the junkmail flag Evolution makes use of. So whilst Evolution on my IMAP client (different PC) marks them as spam and hides it from the folder, they still appear in the inboxes of both webmailer.

Anything to tune up Squirrelmail would be not so easy for me. So if anyone wants to give it a try:

- I installed with apt-get install squirrelmail
- ran the configuration scripts
- copied the /etc/squirrelmail/apache.conf to /etc/apache2/conf.d/squirrelmail
- reloaded the apache with sudo /etc/init.d/apache2 reload

Then I started it with http://bubba/squirrelmail
