Auto-start after power failure

Another newbie question:

Is it possible to configure a B3 so that it automatically reboots after a power outage? (There is such an option in Mac OS X, so I find it probable.)

Hi,

As far as I know it should do that, but I have never tried pulling the plug on any of my bubbas.
I would strongly recommend getting a low-end UPS. As the B3 needs so little power, even something like a 350W model will keep it running for quite a long time. You will find posts here (and perhaps on the wiki) by me and DanielM about our experiences with the nut and apcups software packages.

When the power fails, the UPS will keep your bubba alive for some hours. When the battery in the UPS is about to die (if the power cut lasts for several hours), it will tell the bubba to shut down properly (which means it is safe, and also it will come back up automatically when the power returns).

Cheers,

Cheeseboy

PS.
We both used the same 350W UPS from APC. I have not read anything about anyone trying another brand/model. Please keep in mind that you will need a USB model, as the Bubba has no RS-232 (old school serial port).

Yes, B1, B2 and B3 autoboots after power-up.
