Stream music from B3 over Internet?

Hi!

Is there any possibility to stream music from the B3 over Internet? It would be nice to listen to music stored on the B3 e.g. at work without needing to first move the music to a portable player.

Just log into the bubba and click om music?
Or do you want to log into Squeezeserver?

Thanks!

I wasn't aware of this possibility.

For what can I use Squeezeserver? Is it possible e.g. to listen to music on my smartphone with some client software instead of via a web browser?

I'm not aware of any client-software which can play music via Squeezeserver. Squeezeserver is used to stream music to the Logitech Squeezebox range of music players. In theory you may use both MT-DAAPD (Firefly) and Mediatomb (UPNP) to stream to compatible players.
By opening port 3689 to the internet on your Bubba or Router you may connect using for instance VLC media player or WinAmp. I never managed to connect either though.

You can use SimpleDAAP (iPhone) or "DAAP" (Android) against the Firefly daap server. I have tried both and they work well (well, the android DAAP was slightly unstable), but the setup might be tricky when you are outside of your LAN due the firewall issues. I don't remember in detail what I did to get it to work but get back if you need help and I'll have a look.

OK, I'll try that. Maybe port 3689 needs to be opened, as Binkem wrote...

Thanks a lot for the help!

There is a slight (and I fear tricky) problem with port 3689 being both controlled by the MT-DAAPD password (set in /etc/mt-daapd.conf) and the Bubba server software which grants access when clicking on music in the bubba/admin page. I still don't understand how this is controlled.
