Ethernet cable freeze

Hi, just for everyone’s knowledge
Last day I removed the Ethernet cable because I needed it to plug into my laptop while configuring my router. The wlan was not working at the moment. When I plugged back the Ethernet cable a red led was turned on inside the bubba. The front was still turned on as normal.

All led’s were turned on as working connection on my router so the phy of the bubba was ok. So I thought that it was ok. Tried to ssh to my bubba but it didn't respond. Tried with the web interface, but the same thing. I did leave it for some hours while I was doing other stuff and tried same things again. So I tried the powerdown bottom, but it didn't respond on that either so figured out that the red led shouldn't be turned on ... :)

I finally unplugged the power and re-plugged the power in again and it booted normally.

Hi Kermit,

Sorry to hear that you have had networking problems with your unit. A few general tips here.

Disconnecting and connecting the network cable should really work. We use ifplugd to detect (dis)connections and should reconfigure networking when this happens.

We have however noticed that this fails occasionally. If this happens, the best thing to do is to disconnect the cable and wait ~10s and then reinsert it again. Wait a while to give DHCP a chance to do its work and then try to access the unit again.

Actually that was the first thing I did. I even unplugged the router end and inserted again.
