Hi

How do I install Squeezebox Server 7.5.3 on my Bubba Two? 7.5.1 is the version installed and there is no update to 7.5.3 from Excito.

there's a pretty good recipe on this website: http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/DebianPackage (although I never actually tried this)

Thanks for the link, it helped a little, but I give up. I know nothing about Linux. I have already spent a few hours to reach this point. :-)

I get the following error with apt-get update:
Failed to fetch http ://debian.slimdevices.com/dists/stable/main/binary-powerpc/Packages.gz
404 Not Found
Reading package lists... Done
W: Couldn't stat source package list http ://debian.slimdevices.com stable/main Packages (/var/lib/apt/lists/debian.slimdevices.com_dists_stable_main_binary-powerpc_Packages) - stat (2 No such file or directory

Is there someone out there who have managed to install Squeezebox server 7.5.3 on B2?

I have installed the ppc deb on my B2 without problem but I get a segmentation fault when I do squeezeboxserver start

Do I need a higher verson of perl? Or do I need to upgrade to Lenny or Squeeze?

I think that Squeezebox server 7.5.3 is a really important upgrade. With the Spotify integration you can run Spotify via Squeezebox server on the B2.

I've tried to install both 7.5.3 and 7.6 without any luck. Squeezebox server seems to restart every 5 seconds. From what I've understood after all the searching on Google, the old Perl in Bubba TWO is not compatible. I've tried to install a new Debian package of Perl with dpkg but I got serious dependency problems so I had to revert. Maybe you will be luckier with installing a new Perl manually.

I think I'm going to try to upgrade my Bubba to Squeeze or something. The Bubba TWO software is really outdated.

I sent an email to Excito and asked them if they will update Bubba2 to the Squeezebox server 7.5.3.

This is the reply I got:

We are aware of the new update and hopefully we will be releasing an update in the not too distant future.

Just an update - we apologize for the slow response in this lately, but we are testing 7.5.3 right now. Releasing soon!

It does now show up in Software update on the web administration interface. Do I need to do this manually?

Ah yes, but this thread is about Squeezebox Server on Bubba 2, so I thought this was released for Bubba 2?
If not, do you have any status on when that might happen?
