Hi guys,

I have a hardware phone that needs an ftp server to provision itself, but it's picky about the software and doesn't work with proftpd*. I'd like to install vsftpd, except bubba-backend depends on proftpd, which conflicts with vsftpd.

I would really appreciate some way to install vsftpd without greatly modifying the base system. Perhaps changing "bubba-backend"'s relationship** with proftpd from "Depends" to "Recommends" or "Suggests" or even "Enhances"? A full-out conversion to vsftpd would be awesome, of course.

Cheers,

Geoff

* really! I'm not making this up. Years ago, I contacted the manufacture, who suggested I try vsftpd instead of proftpd. I was sceptical when I tried it, but it worked! I've since become a vsftpd believer.
