Remote access control

My Bubba2 is structured as follows, in /storage I have:
/common
/photos
/music

Everyone in my house has access to all. I want to set up a way of controlling access to the subdirectories (read photo albums) in /photos so I can allow a group of friends with a common interest to add photos and to see all their photos and mine. What is the best way to do that?

I've been trying but so far they all get access to everything - I dont want someone coming in from the web to have access to the family photos. Currently all directories in /photos are in format of yyyy_mmdd which means the collating sequence keeps everything in date order but I can do a rename to add a suffix or prefix.

The split, it has just occured to me, is user signing on from 192 network sees everything, user from web sees just my shared photos.

Although this isn't such an elegant solution, have you considered putting the photos on your webserver in a new directory and protecting them with a .htaccess file?

I'm pretty sure you can also create album users who can only access photos.

Take this advice with a pinch of salt - I've only had my bubba server for a day.

@Luke, you've only had your Bubba for a day but in another thread you're offering to sell it? Already :?
