Hey,
Will excito keep mt-daap in bubba or will they replace it with upnp, for instance:
http://mediatomb.cc/.
What makes mt-daap so good? What is the difference between a upnp-server and mt-daap?
Would a upnp not be better since it would do the same thing but with better streaming support for non itune users/devices?

HI limpo and others,
We will most likely keep mt-daap/firefly in Bubba. This mainly due to that it streams with daap making it very attractive for streaming audio to desktops running ITunes and say Rhythmbox in Linux (I use this daily for serving music while i work)
But i think you either have read our minds or read up on Mediatomb

Next major firmware release will feature Mediatomb and full UPNP mediaserver support. We have actually worked with the Mediatomb guys on this. You can read more about it on their site under Device List,
http://mediatomb.cc/pages/devices and in their news section
http://mediatomb.cc/news scroll down a bit to find the items.
We where planning more info on release. But since you mention it consider this some prerelease info.

Hi,
Sorry for breaking your release info.

But I just hade to ask
About mt-daap, is there some free software in windows that does play streaming audio from firefly? I havent found many that support daap-protocol.

iTunes can see any of my music on Bubba using Firefly.
