Bubba does not start after powerline was lost

Hi,

Recently a full power-down failure happened in my house. All devices are still ok, only my new Bubba (bought in February this year) cannot start any more. The blue light keeps flashing (regular interval).

I tried to install an image by means of a USB key, but that did not work: the blue light flashes roughly at a rate described in the manual: 3 seconds on, 1 sec off, 1sec on, off (short), etc.

(Please note that I had to re-program a second Bubba a week before, successfully, using the same steps and USB, so I expect that the USB and the steps are performed well. The second Bubba, by the way, did not show a problem due to the power-failure.)

So I expect that the HD has failed.

What do you advice?
- Return it back to you for repair
- Replace the HD myself

With kind regards,

Ernst Jan

I have the similar problem.

I removed the HD and checked it by attaching and mounting to my desktop PC.

The HD is working and I can access all the files and partitions, but when it is attached to Bubba it could not load. The led flashing says that.
So I think there probably are some files damaged.

Could it (HD) be repaired by attaching to another PC?
If yes how - could be some link to a How tos.

Thanks in advance and looking to forward to your replay,
Janeks

From what I understood, there could be some problem with MBR.

Can I copy it from working Bubbas HD to non working?
I found that it could be done with command:

Code: Select all

dd
But there was warnings about diffrent size disks: the new is 1TB the old one (that should be restored is 500GB)

Any has an expierence?

I found this post:

So it looks like this is not a solution.

But why I could not use old HD on a new Bubba (both are Bubba2)?
