Setting up second NAS

I have recently ordered Bubba and have read up on the forum on the best way to copy files from an existing NAS to Bubba. rsync seems to be the recommended approach.

However, I am clearly new to all of this and would like to know what the easiest & safest method would be transfer a large amount of files (approx 1TB) from another NAS (Seagate Blackarmour 110) to the Bubba over the network. Any guidance would be appreciated.

I needed to copy 500gigs to my Bubba, when I replaced the hdd. I just hooked the hdd to my main computer's sata plug.

Of course, you need to use a screwdriver a bit, and it's not over the network, and you need a sata motherboard, but that would be the snappiest way :) Bubba isn't too hard to open, I don't know about your other NAS.

For over-the-net -transfer, rsync is a fine tool.
