Canon Printer Status

I connected my Canon MP630 printer to my bubba Two, it is correctly recognized on bubba, and installed the printer driver at my Windows XP system as it is described in bubba manual. I connected my bubba using LAN socket to the external router. WAN socket is free.
Printer works ok, but I have the problem with checking printer status. When I try to check the status of the printer from Canon utility "My Printer", I get the response "Printer Not Responding", so I can not check the status of ink etc. At the same time, I have the document "Remote Downlevel Document" on my printer queue.
At the driver settings on windows XP machine I enabled bi-directional support.
What could be the problem?
