Bubba hangs when copying files, revisited

I noticed a couple of threads regarding this already, but none of them help me.
I bought a 2tb Bubba2 from you recently. I started copying my music-collection to it, and experienced crashes approximately 90% of the times I tried. I say crashes, but I have no way of knowing if the Bubba crashed, or if it was just a network issue. There's nothing in the logs, just normal logging and then the boot log, no errors prior to reboot. The copying was done from a computer running Windows Server 2003, using Bubba's samba-service.
I have read the other threads here regarding file copying, and checked my firmware version (it's the latest one). I have reflashed the base system, which didn't help, and 20 minutes ago I decided to enable your unstable sources in apt to test with a newer kernel. After running dist-upgrade and rebooting Bubba won't come back up. I am not in the same location as the server right now, so I can't pull the power, but I will check once I get home if I can get it running again or if I need to reflash the base from USB again.
Any advice? Bubba has so far been completely useless to me. I hope that'll change soon.
