"Disk full" - but it's not

Hi.

I have a Bubba2 with a 1TB disk sitting as gateway to the internet. My wired LAN is 1Gb and I use Win 7 x64, Win 7 x32 and Vista on my own computers. (Rest of the family has XP.)

My problems began recently when copying to the B2 stopped working for larger files (500 Mb - 8GB) where the copy operation reports "disk full" when it is not. I have plenty of room on it, at least 20% free.

What is causing this, can it be fixed??

/Hammer

Could be a problem with permissions or the way the share is set up (presumably Samba). Have you made any changes lately?

check your /tmp directory isn't full

df -k will tell you. It sounds like the temporary directory it uses to copy files is full, not the destination folder

Am I in the right place now:

bubba:/tmp# ls -la
total 16
drwxrwxrwt 4 root root 4096 2010-01-12 21:25 .
drwxr-xr-x 23 root root 4096 2009-02-02 05:00 ..
-rw-r--r-- 1 root www-data 0 2010-01-12 15:22 dmgshm
srw-rw---- 1 root www-data 0 2009-12-01 20:52 ftdaemon
drwxrwxrwt 2 root root 4096 2009-12-01 20:51 .ICE-unix
drwxrwxrwt 2 root root 4096 2009-12-01 20:51 .X11-unix

Seems very small.

bubba:/tmp# df -k
Filesystem 1K-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on
/dev/sda1 9621848 2952512 6180560 33% /
tmpfs 128200 0 128200 0% /lib/init/rw
udev 10240 24 10216 1% /dev
tmpfs 128200 4 128196 1% /dev/shm
/dev/mapper/bubba-storage
950669364 692263928 210114212 77% /home

Means nothing to me.

EDIT: No changes to permissions that I have made at least. Where do I check/change that?

Can you clarify where you're trying to copy the files to?

Hi alll,

No, this is most likely a bug we are aware of, it's actually the samba transfer that hangs after a while, windows freaks out and gives the wrong error message.

We have a solution (new kernel), PA will let you know the details here asap.

We have a fix that we would like to try and I have sent a PM to Hammer requesting him to try it.

This fix is a part of a major upgrade that we are working on which is targeted to be released by the end of the month.

I've also encountered this problem on a brand new Bubba|TWO, any chance I could get the fix?
This Bubba is supposed be a small fileserver in a production environment, so it's quite important that it handle files larger than 800mb (which seems to be the limit right now)...

Hi,

The fix is currently in our testing repositories, and I prefer not to publicly post this as it is testing.

We can not officially support the software that is under testing, and the fix is just a part of the entire upgrade that is coming so it is a bit tricky how to do this. But I will send a PM to Jonas on how to test.

After a conversation with Jonas, the software he tested seemed to solve his problem.
We are doing our best to test it fully and release it as a normal upgrade as soon as possible.

Problem returned, "disk is full" when it's not.

Also, after having done the upgrade a week or so ago, I pressed "update" again and got:
100.00% Failures found in package (dpkg) database, unable to continue with upgrade.iF bubba-horde 3.3.5ex3
df -k yields:
Filesystem 1K-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on
/dev/sda1 9621848 3282368 5850704 36% /
tmpfs 128200 0 128200 0% /lib/init/rw
udev 10240 24 10216 1% /dev
tmpfs 128200 4 128196 1% /dev/shm
/dev/mapper/bubba-storage
Can someone help?

There seems to be a problem with horde,

Since you have command line access try this to correct the problem:

http://forum.excito.net/viewtopic.php?f ... 8&start=45

Make sure that you restart your unit since there is i new kernel in the upgrade and I am not sure you got the full upgrade if there is a horde problem.

Did the update and reboot command.
Bubba came up and now it's really interesting, can't browse the file folders over the network anymore...
Can't even find the Bubba on the network, even though the streaming service shows up.
