how much power does the USB port supply?

Hey,

I was just wondering whether the Bubba's USB port would provide enough power to re-charge my iPod? That would certainly come in handy as the Bubba is always running to I could re-charge the iPod overnight.

Unfortunately I don't have the iPod around at the moment, otherwise I'd just give it a shot myself... ;)

Thanks,
Christoph

The USB can supply minimum 500mA and will shutdown automatically if the connected unit uses too much power. The shutdown current is typically 1A, so you should do fine with charging your Ipod.

However I would not recommend having the Ipod connecting and charging with full charging current when booting Bubba. The disc uses its maximum power during spin-up of the disc and in that case the power supply might be overheated if the Ipod too is drawin a lot of power from the USB.
