Ok here's my setup:
2 Gigabit switches: 5 devices on each.
I've been diagnosing the network for weeks now... No clue about the problem.
Any ping between any device except bubba gives satisfying results.
Here's the ping average between any device and the Bubba Two:

Code: Select all

PING bubba (192.168.1.68): 56 data bytes
64 bytes from 192.168.1.68: seq=0 ttl=64 time=1.484 ms

Already done the latest update and checked if it was working...
Any idea or suggestion would be more than welcome !

Thanks

It seems like it happens when the bubba streams video with mediatomb from a CIFS/Samba shared drive...

I would really need some help on this one :)

Thanks

I've experienced similar problems.
I've also found the weirdest connection to Mediatomb. This sounds really strange, and sort of "out of this world". I can't explain why but it has solved the problem for me twice.

Scenario: For instance watching a movie on my PC via a b2 samba share. The B2 goes unresponsive via samba, network performance low. I then start my PS3 also connected to B2. The Ps3 doesn't find B2 Mediatomb server from start, but after 30 secs to a minute the B2 Mediatomb server pops up in the PS3 XMB. Then when I go back to using the PC, the performance is back to normal.

Like I said, this sound strange as heck. I don't even know 100% that that is the reason why it goes back to normal. But it has worked on two occations. But it makes me suspect a Mediatomb-related issue of some sort.

Same problem here. I haven't really looked into debugging it yet though, I just restart Bubba from my iPhone and all's well for a bit.

I've noticed it when streaming video from an SMB share, and also doing network file copies using the same and CIFS.

I might try removing Mediatomb and seeing if the problem goes away.

Hi all,

This is probably symptoms on an issue we are working on right now, and if that's the case, it's nothing you can fix yourselves. However, be assured that we are struggling with it, and do have a solution in testing phase right now. We'll keep you posted.

Thanks for your patience.

Any news on this fix? I need to restart my Bubba every third day or so because of this slow network issue..
