hi,

some usb disks do not appear in the "disk" page of my admin account of bubba.

i have a western digital 1tb that i am trying to mount. it was partitioned and formated as ext2, a single primary partition. it mounts automatically in ubuntu 8.10 when you plug it into a usb port. it is a no-show when i plug it into a usb port on bubba. i am using scenario 4 with an airport extreme.

please advise.

Doesn't it appear in the Webinterface (logged in with the admin account! ) ?

Then try this:
Disconect you disk and login with putty ssh, reconnect your disk and do the following:

hi,

here is the output from dmesg. i am an ubuntu guy so i just use ssh if that is okay. the output was quite long from dmesg but here is all of it anyway. there are some errors in the output but it DOES show the western digital "My Book" usb drive but it still does not show up in the "Disk" page of the bubba2 admin account...

The problem is that the MyBook device isnt mapped to a /dev/sdb or c d e... device. I dont have an explanation for that.

what shows up with the command:

(I have made an extra partition and two usb-disks attached on my bubba)
If there is no /dev/sdb of /dev/sdc you could disconnect the device and make them yourself with the following commands:

root@bubba:~# mknod /dev/sdb1 b 8 17
root@bubba:~# chgrp floppy /dev/sdb1

And now reconnect the disk
But to be honest, I doubt if that solves your problem.

hi,

i tried repartitioning the drive with 2 x 450gb partitions and one 52gb partition and still no luck. i am using gparted to do the partitioning.

i was looking through the output from dmesg and noticed that there is a line

perhaps this is a clue? the /dev/sd are whats in play her no?

i ran the bubba update tool as soon as i logged in the first time though.
