Hi there,

I am having the exact same problem.

Installed mldonkey via apt-get. The files were installed to /var/lib/mldonkey

I then change the downloads.ini file to allow the ip of my desktop but when the bubba is restarted it just overwrites the changed downloads.ini with the original file (without my ips).

any suggestions?

Right.

I solved this by doing the following;
1) find process of mldonkey (ps -A)
2) kill the process (kill "PID")
3) with the process killed I altered the downloads.ini
4) restart server - hey presto, all ok.

Hi,

I fiddled for ages to get this going and can confirm that this link http://forum.excito.net/viewtopic.php?t=88 is the correct way and should help you out. Uninstall mldonkey-server using apt and remove the files and then start again in accordance with the link.

Download the latest version of mldonkey from the mldonkey site

Do not run mldonkey as su

take a look at my comments at the bottom of the link.

thanks a lot.
now is up :)
I run it manually, did you know how to add it to the startup sequence ?
So if power fail + UPC fail it will be up on the next startup :D

No worries.

No I dont know how to do the startup script. That is my next challenge. If someone can help us would be good - otherwise give us a week or so to sort it out in my spare time (have to do the housework this weekend instead :D )
