Hello,
I have a problem with external connection to the IMAP server bubba2.
I tried server IMAP (ip number) but I get message "time out".
Local it works fine with server name "bubba"
Another problem is that i still can see my deleted messages in webmail.
Can anyone help me with this?
Thanks in advance.

Do a search on this forum ! First you have to tell your configuration according to the manual (so how is your bubba placed in your netwerk).
If it times out mostly this is beacause you bubba is not accessible from outside. Did you reroute your imap ports inside your router (if bubba hangs at your router for example) ? Can you access your bubba on port 80 from outside? If also not the case please check how to reroute your router in your router manual !

I can acces my bubba external (web interface or webserver).
But I still can't acces the IMAP server from extern locations.
On the LAN it works fine.
I don't have a router before the bubba, the bubba is my router.
Do I have to open a port 80 or something like that??
Please help.

Hello,
I can acces the bubba with starup page/administration/webmail etc without any problems.
Only IMAP is not working.
I tried IMAP server on external IP adress (same as i user for webmail etc)
Tried port 993 with SSL

Can you access the Bubba from the internet using other protocols? (the webserver; ssh etc.)
Are you sure you use you internet IP-adress and not a lan adress (something like 192.168.x.x)?
I connect to the IMAP-server using SSL (port 993) that works fine with Thunderbird. You might try the easyfind service that Excito uses.

no easyfind, that is just forward service
if you can see your webserver on port 80 but not access you imap server did you open this IMAP port in your firewall?? I can access imap from outside onport 143 (which i forwarded to bubba) using TLS.
are you sure you can use your imap port from outside network. My network at work only permits port 80, so i have to use tunneling to connect to my imap server (horde is not the thing for me, not able to show big files attached and very slow).
