fetchmail web config does not allow @ in user name

Hi all,
after trying a couple of times to use your fetchmail web admin and checking the /etc/fetchmailrc file I figured out that you do not allow "@" in the remote user name.
Actually some mails (like gmx, a german mail provider) need the whole mail address as login user name.
For now I seem to have to manually insert those characters in the /etc/fetchmailrc file.
Cheers,
