[Solved] Too deep eSATA connector

My just arrived Bubba didn't recognice my eSATA-drive (WesternDigital MyBook Studio Edition II). Neither did my desktop computer so I started to google and found this thread about too deep eSATA connectors. Fetched my Mora-knife and started carving on the eSATA cable and joy! I got the drive working on my desktop. But still not on Bubba. Tried carving on the Bubba end of the eSATA cable too, and now Bubba can connect to the eSATA drive as well.

In short: Some eSATA cables (e.g. Deltaco) need to be trimmed in the plastic housing to work with Bubba.

Hello All and Tor,

Bought the Bubbastorage with a nice clean 1T disk.
connecting it to the B2........no disk to be seen.

How should the cable be corrected to get this working?

If you connect the storage when the unit is running, it might not be seen. You could try a reboot.

If you are comfortable running CLI try:

mount /dev/sdb1 /home/storage/external/disk_0
