TRAC on BubbaTwo

Hi,
I wonder if anybody has experience with installing trac on the bubbaTwo server.
I installed it and got it basically up and running (installing trac 0.11.1 using easy_install and python 2.4) - yet, at an ridiculously slow speed (10-20 secs to serve a page.)
Did anybody experience this? Is this speed really due to the machine spec (which sounds unlikely to me)? Does an upgrade to python 2.5 increase performance? Any hints?
