New System: need a Monitor for anything?

I plan on purchasing the BubbaII to replace my current debian server. My question is: will I need a monitor for any part of the setup? Or can I use my laptop (via crossover, or LAN, or serial connection) to talk to the BubbaII server?

Optimal for me would be an open sshd that I could log in as root (and then lock down security once I get in there).

I see the manual has come out. Maybe the answer is in there. I've only been able to take a quick look.

Thanks for your time.

No monitor will be needed, just an external computer to log in to the bubba. Note that using ssh you can only log in as a user. You get root access via SU
