bubba goes inactive in LAN?

I've discovered that bubba goes inactive sometimes, when i go into my router i can see all attached devices and bubba is listed as inactive.

This happened last night i had just restarted the router and after that bubba had to be restarted through power button to access it again. Is there anything i can do to solve this?

Also, i sometimes have problems to access the home folder through windows, the folder is visible in my network places, i use my user login. Then i get an error message saying that it's "not allowed, maybe you're not allowed to log in with the same user more than once", not the exact words. I can always access the storage folder though.

Using Windows XP SP2.

Hello RealElWood,

I have never seen that status in any of my routers, and I'm not sure what it would mean in TCP/IP terms.
Can you ping it when it is "inactive"?
Does your bubba use your router as a DHCP server?
If it does, you might have to wait a while before bubba finds it on the network after you reboot the router.

It is always a good idea to post the exact error messages you get, it helps people search for them in search engines etc. Otherwise we all have to rely on fuzzy human memory/associations that cannot be relied upon.

For the windows situation I would reccomend that you open the file explorer, go into Tools -> Disconect network drive... and disconnect everything. Then try again.

Best regards,

Hello RealElWood,

Have have seen the same problem. After rebooting my router, the bubba does not get back by name (bubba.lan in my case) in the network (DNS). I need to disconnect and connect the ethernet cable to get things working again.

It looks like the bubba and router get confused about the rebooting router.

My router is a SpeedTouch ST780. I have assigned a permanent IP adress to my bubba in the router (it always gets the same if it asks for an address).

I did not check if accessing by IP address is also impossible. I will check after the next reboot of my router.
