gives the same errors, I have to start mt-daap everytime to be able to play this player but when it stops i don't know why it stops and it happens in each 10sec/5 minutes or so, so can't play one song... But if you have no problems i'm thinking about resetting the whole bubba...

at crash time i see everytime:
bubba mt-daapd[14925]: Write error: Broken pipe
bubba mt-daapd[14924]: Rendezvous socket closed (daap server crashed?) Aborting.

any news on this? I got all updates but it still crashes. Mediatomb is doing fine on PS3, firefly is fine on Itunes. But the applet.html does always crash firefly.

I can give all login details to reproduce it for excito staff maybe you can solve this issue. I think i'm not the only one with this issue or is nobody else using it?

samba log:

Code: Select all

Yeah - this is really strange. Has anyone had any luck with replacing the applet with something else?

I've used kPlaylist with some luck. It works on MOST browsers, but I would really like to get the firefly working instead since my mt-daap is running anyways.

Would love to hear if anyone has used any other similar applications with good results.

I have created a small flash application to let you enjoy your music at work. It's called FirePlay, and you can download it here:

http://www.mellberg.org/FirePlay.zip

Put the files in your admin-root folder of FireFly and config the .html to suit your needs.

There is a 50+ page thread about it on the FireFly forums, if you run into trouble.

Best regards,

Bo, I've been using your software for a couple of months. I love it!
I pushed through all 50+ pages of the Firefly forum as well :)

I still have one problem, though it's probably more of a question to the forum / Excito crew than to you.

It has to do with accessing the Fireplay app and B2 from outside of the local network. I read instructions regarding the HP Media smart server, and tried using (as instructed) a simple port forward in the firewall:
Source IP: all -> Public port: 9999 -> Private port: 3689 -> Private IP: 192.168.10.1 (Bubba|Two local IP).

It works from inside the network, using B2 external IP and port 9999. But from outside it times out, and just won't show.

Tips and ideas are welcome

First: Bo: Thanks for a great app! Have been using it all morning.

jonte: You are right, this is probably a shortcoming in the firewall ui, I'm looking in to it right now. You should either do a forward of port 3689, but if you don't want that, it should work to select "Port Forward" instead of "Bubba Two public port". In the Private IP field you should then add Bubbas LAN IP.

Hope this works.

Ok, so either a port forward, public port 3689 to private port 3689 and Bubba2 internal IP, or the other "B2 public port" setting using 3689 as public port?

Thanks

EDIT: Works great, forwarded public port 3689 to private port 3689, and Bubba2 internal IP. Wonder why I haven't gotten it to work previously, but who cares; it works now :)

Thanks Johannes and of course Bo for the great app!

Yes, but a port forward from external: 9000 to private: 3689 should work.

The bug from our side is that you can fill something in the "private" section when selected "Bubba Two public port". This entry should not be possible, and doesn't have any effect. Sorry for this, it's reported as a bug and will be fixed in our next release.

/usr/share/mt-daapd/admin-root/

Not so easy to guess. :)

Just to put another option out there, I've just discovered Crossfire - a web based client for Firefly. It looks awesome and even has an iPhone optimized interface.

http://sourceforge.net/projects/ffmcrossfire/

Unfortunately, I'm having some trouble getting it to work (see here - http://crossfire.codeware-consultancy.c ... 2405#p2405) so if anyone else wants to try it and gets it working, please let me know.

Also, I just went to install FirePlay and discovered it already sitting on my server. Cool, but it would be nice if that were documented somewhere :)
