Page allocation failures

I've had some "issues" lately with page allocation failures. I say "issues" since except for generating some stack traces and a "few" lines in the logs everything seems to be running just fine.
There seems to be no obvious pattern as to why these errors occur. So any ideas are welcome...

I'm running the "Linux xyz.xyz.xyz 2.6.30.1 #4 Fri Jul 17 14:46:22 CEST 2009 ppc GNU/Linux" kernel. This is an example of what ends up in the logs:

Hi mad,

It seems like you either has hit a bug in our testing kernel or more likely have run out of memory. Do you experience the same problems with current stable kernel or did the problems start when upgrading?

It started after upgrading but further investigations point out a rtorrent (not the backport) as the villain in this case. Case closed.

Since februari 2010 I have two brand new BUBBA|TWO systems. I am testing the backup functionality by storing a number of copies of Virtual Applicances and started a backup to the second bubba. The second bubba shows an excessive number of page allocation failures, see attachement (zipped txt file). I am using an encryption key, and I have tested the backup beforehand with some smaller files (that works).

This morning (March 8, around 8 o'clock), the source contains several (large) files, with a total of 26GB. The destination contains some files, but with about 6GB in total (@ 15.00, it is of course possible that the transfer is still in progress). I have a 1Gbit internal network.

I have updated the two bubba's recently.
