Mac OSX issue

You now sayThe FTP client included in the Mac OS X Finder is read only so it is not possible to upload files to a FTP server using it. You'll have to keep using a real FTP client or switch to Samba as Tor suggested.
If it's a MacBook, then, it's Mac OS X 10.4.x.
I must admit, I'm not quite sure what you think is not possible with the Finder; FTP or Samba access. The fact is, nothing works apart from FTPing using (Captain) FTP.As I have already written, it is impossible with the Finder.
Ian.
Ian,
The permissions look fine. (As it should when you can access it via ftp)
This really starts to anoy me. Could you perhaps create another user on the Mac and Bubba and se if the problem persists or only in effect with your wifes account. I will try to get some time to set up our Mac testunit and see if i can reproduce this.

I upgraded my wife's MacBook to Leopard (Mac OSX 10.5) yesterday, partly as a result of this thread: http://excito.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t ... c&start=15. Anyway, this solved the problem, and my wife now has complete access to the bubba, and her private folder in particular.
So it would appear that the problem was completely caused by Mac OSX 10.4 not handling Samba access very well...
Thanks for the help,
Ian.
