I've seen a few posts on owncloud and it sounded slightly complicated with changing file size limits and the like and wondered is there a simple solution.
Currently I'm using Dropbox but I have an excito B3 permanently on the network. I'm using linux desktops on various computers, and phones, so there is a wealth of open source SW at my disposal but with all the possibilities what is the easy and useful alternative? I mean that I could use rsync and have a cron job just periodically sync files to and from the B3. That doesn't sound bullet proof. There are a load of Cloudy cloud cloud solutions but are they a lot of overhead, providing solutions so email, ftp, etc. etc. when my B3 is already providing a really good solution to all those problems.
Ideally I'd like to sync encrypted data to the B3 as I'll never have to view it on the B3 and sync the encrypted data to my various linux devices which know the keys to de-crypt the data.
Anybody who has traveled this road I'd love to hear your views on the subject.

Replacing cloud sotrage
Re: Replacing cloud sotrage
Your list of requirements does not mention quota yet you dismiss owncloud because of the quota management (at least that is how i read the first line). Can you elaborate on that?
For small and medium size file sets owncloud is fine. Its not diffiult to set up, but their theming sucks.
