Hi,
I haven't upgraded my B2 (having a 1 TB disk) in quite a while but since I have wifi/sponaneous reboot issues I feel its about time I do some upgrading.
Are there any special consideration I need to take in making a leap from 2.0.4?
Do I have to make intemediate updates before taking on the latest version, 2.5.1.2?
I realize the leap over 2.4.1 makes it a full re-install and I'll take extensive care to back up everything before I start the process.
I assume it is not as simple as a click on the "Software update" button, or?
Any advice is appreciated (I'm not a frequent upgrader as you've probably realized)...

This question seems to be getting asked a couple of times a week at the moment. Please try searching the forum/wiki for answers before posting.

Ok. I guess it is some kind of comfort knowing I'm not the only one.RandomUsername wrote:This question seems to be getting asked a couple of times a week at the moment. Please try searching the forum/wiki for answers before posting.
I did try search, but terms like "upgrade 2.0.4" aren't searchable as the search engine just returns
"words in your search query were ignored because they are too common words".
None of the three hits when searching the wiki for "upgrade" were any help.

And yes, I did a fair amount of looking about before posting.

Thanks.

I'll answer the questions myself...
Upgrading from 2.0.4. described in two steps.
1. Re-Install (to 2.4.1)

2. Invoke "Software update" from the administration web.

Re: B2 Upgrade from 2.0.4
I have with growing frustration tried the upgrade route but it doesn't really seem to be working for me.
I have tried to re-download the package and put it upon a re-formatted USB-drive so all that should be prestine.
However the B2 simply stays at 2Hz blink and nothing really happens.
I have had some issues with it up to now so I really think that an upgrade would be worth it for me.
The main issue for me has been that it has become invisible over the network. I can access it through FTP and web interface but not through any of the other devices. (Win NT / Win 7 / Xbox /Androids / Mac)
Since i have fiber line to my house I found that the B2 in the preferred setup on incoming line was restricting speed so it has since been set as a nas & axcess point only. It doesn't seem to like this very well either. WiFi works great but it doesn't really seem to like to connect to my router.
Rest of my network is a Netgear WNDR4000 router and a Belkin 8 port gigabit switch.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
