B3 and eSATA?

Post by dr_zakko »

Hello community,

I bought a 2TB B3 just a week ago and now wanted to connect an eSata and build a raid.
The problem now is, the B3 didn't detect the external HDD when using eSATA connection but did so when using USB.
I've seen some other topics about problems with eSata here, but non of them really helped me.
The device didn't appear - neither on web gui nor detected when looking via ssh.
When connecting the device to an other NAS (not excito) with esata it's detected immediately... :(
I've also seen the topic about the connector, but cutting on the connector was also no solution.

Has somebody made same experience with B3 and esata or any ideas about a solution?

Using B3 with 2.4.2 firmware. ==> could the firmware be the problem?
external device: Fantec DB-ALU2e with 2 TB (uses a Seagate hdd but don't know the spec)

what about another hdd? if you got the chance to connect a hdd of another manuficaturer you might find out if the esata is disabled. you should then be able to activate it over ssh.

worst case it would be broken. if so contact support@excito.com they may replace the bubba platine.

I am sorry but we have had a few instances of a non-working connector, so most likely you need a motherboard replacement. If you feel techy enough we can ship you a new board an you can replace it yourself, to save you the downtime. Contact support@excito.com and we'll work it out for you in best possible way.
