Will a recompiled kernel with CONFIG_HZ > 100 work?
I'd like to use my Bubba3 as a pulseaudio network sink and therefore I would like to recompile the kernel and change the kernel timer. Is there any good reason not to do that? Is there any precompiled kernel with multimedia in mind?

I don't know, but I do know this isn't a "how to" (the exact opposite in fact) so I suggest you ask this in one of the support forums where it will get more exposure.

Just answering myself.
CONFIG_HZ cannot be changed for bubba, but I recompiled the kernel anyway and I found it a pretty straightforward process. What you can change is CONFIG_PREEMPT_* which might help with interactive tasks.
