Warning newbie question below!!!
Which editor do you use on your Bubba?
I tried to install emacs but it doesn't seem to exist in
deb http://update.excito.net/ bubba main
E: Couldn't find package emacs
Really wants to run emacs, how do I do?

emacs editor?
Didn't work.
bubba:/etc/apt# apt-get install emacs
Reading Package Lists... Done
Building Dependency Tree... Done
Package emacs is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source
E: Package emacs has no installation candidate
Which editor do you use? (not VI, please)

Ooops, the emacs package seems to be obsolete, I installed the emacs21 instead. Works fine.
bubba:/etc/apt# apt-get install emacs21

The following extra packages will be installed:
emacs21-bin-common emacs21-common emacsen-common libice6 libsm6 libungif4g libx11-6 libxext6 libxmu6 libxpm4
libxt6 xaw3dg xfree86-common xlibs-data
Sorry for babbling in the forum.

A short comment, maybe a little late. The best package to install here probably is emacs21-nox With this you don't have to install the whole x-client stuff.
(But on the other hand. Now you can run emacs showing its graphical window on your workstation Xserver if you run that.
)
And don't forget to comment out the Debian sources again if you use the upgrade functionality in the web-admin ui.
