I would always leave the # in front of the debian sources unless you need to manually load additional software from the Debian repositories.

Apparently easy to install and seems to work well.

Perhaps you could try a different CAPTCHA method for authentication. We were getting a lot of spam on a forum I moderate and making changes to this helped a lot, we hardly get any now. I'll try to find out some details.

Another use for tinyproxy that i've had is to set options:

ConnectPort 5190
ConnectPort 1863

that would allow connections to tinyproxy with MSN / ICQ through the ssh-tunnel as well in order to keep local snooping at bay. :)

I think all you need to do is create a new group:
addgroup ftpuser
Add your user to it:

I've found the speed of my Bubba to be perfectly acceptable considering how modest the CPU is. When I've been dumping files to it I've noticed a short delay in response to the web interface or SSH logins but not to the point of annoyance.
