Is anyone else having problems with easy find. I'm currently getting these errors and my IP address is not updating.

Updating IP on file.
Wrote config to file

I run easyfind hourly using cron ...

Nothing to do with easyfind, going off topic on to security

I've settled for tunnelling everything through ssh and using deny hosts.

<xyz> was just a placeholder as I didn't want to post my real server name on an open forum. I get enough hack attempts from the far east as it is!

Anyway .. easyfind appears to have started working again from 8 - 9 am yesterday morning.

Thanks for your thoughts on this.

I have been thinking the same and waited for the scanner's DHCP lease to expire but when it did it renewed successfully and the scanner continued to work. I have not looked at the leases file you suggest however and will do so next time I lose ...

Here is a solution.

Instead of setting up IPTABLEs as per the page linked to the excito wiki, I followed the instructions here :
http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Squid_Transparent_Proxy

I replaced these lines with the correct IP address and subnet masks :
LAN_IP=`nvram get lan_ipaddr`
LAN_NET ...
