My B3 is EOL because it has become unstable. Setup and configuration is hit and miss. Therefore it is going to retire soon.

What would you recommend as a replacement?

I wish it was that simple.

The setup:
LAN connected to my laptop
WAN connected to the internet.

Laptop got ip-address, could access the internet and ssh into B3, but there was no http://b3 available.


I'm writing the above in past tense because right now (from the same usb-stick) I booted ...

Just for fun, I tried to boot the latest bubbagen 1.10.0 and it boots up fine.
But this time I can't access the web-gui on http://b3, but I can ssh root into it.

Downloaded and tried to install it, but I couldn't connect. No fault of the image, my B3 is unstable when installing OS's. Next I tried Arch and it worked, so that's what I ended up installing.

When I try to run /root/install_on_sda.sh it says 'No such file or directory'.

However, I think my guide is a little rough to be in a wiki, especially the part in the beginning about setting up the host computer for sharing connection to ssh into the B3. Also the guide has not been tested thoroughly (only two times...).

These are my steps from flashing Debian Jessie to having a lan- and wifi router on the B3, including DHCP and firewall. I have tried countless times to follow a guide or an idea, but kept loosing the big picture and forgetting the steps to success and failure. So I started to write down the steps ...

After many attempts (and many nights...) at getting masquerading set up properly with UFW and Shorewall, I finally reinstalled Jessie and followed the guide sakaki linked to (I'm still not sure why I didn't follow the linked guide in the first place...).

Anyway, I finally have a b3 with Debian 8 ...

Am I suppose to bridge LAN and WAN to get access to the internet?

Right now I can access the b3 and the b3 can access the internet, but I cannot access the internet through the b3.

Thanks for introducing me to journalctl. I didn't get to use the unit name filters as I didn't know what to look for (and what not to look for...).
