In the release notes for Debian 13, Trixie, the Debian community has announced that Debian 13 will be the last release to target the armel arcitecture, which includes the Excito B3.

Re: Debian trixie (13) image 1.0 released for B3
Thank you so very much, Charles (MouettE)!
Another flawless and uneventful `apt full-upgrade` and my B3 keeps going, solid as ever thanks to Charles and the wider Debian community.

B3 power plug and jack dimensions?
What is the power plug and jack dimensions for the B3?
Is it 5.5 x 1.7 x 10 mm? Or 5.5 x 2.1 x 9 mm? Or something else?
Another question, is it a ferrite bead that is mounted on the power cable just before the B3 plug?
I plan to make a 2 metre extension cable that I want to connect between the ...

Re: Can't SSH into B3
There is a neat trick to fearless editing of ssh-configurations: Use two ssh-sessions.
Log in and sudo in two different terminal windows from your client. Edit the ssh config in one, continue to keep both terminals open and restart the ssh daemon from one of the terminals. Now you can either log ...

Re: How to build a kernel for Debian on Excito B3
Thanks Mouette and Gordon for your help!
Now I have something to do the next rainy weekend here. And the south of Sweden is quite rainy this time of the year, so sooner rather than later i believe. ;)
I'll be back with a followup on my progress.
Thanks again, this has been on my TODO-list for ...

Re: How to build a kernel for Debian on Excito B3
My primary goal is to be able to build the most recent kernel version of Debian, 5.10.162.
An awesome but perhaps less likely stretch goal for me is to attempt the most recent Debian testing kernel. Right now 6.1.12.

Re: Easyfind end of service
I'm not using easyfind so this is just a comment from the sidelines. However, there are plenty of other trustworthy dynamic dns providers. Free as well as commercial.
Of course, if actual easyfind users pipes up and are willing to fund continued maintenance of the service or take over the ...

How to build a kernel for Debian on Excito B3
I would like to learn how to build a custom kernel package for Debian on Excito B3. However I need some help with that.
I'm a developer by trade and quite comfortable managing Debian systems. Howerver C is not my home turf and I suppose the kernel needs to be cross compiled on a X86_64 to avoid a ...

Re: Bubba B1 failure mode
Have you tried to carefully wiggle the hard drive into the board connector. It could be a glitch or bad connection between the drive and board. Another long shot would be that it is a power issue. Check the power levels from the power supply, and try moving the power plug to another outlet, perhaps ...

Re: Buster image ?
@drdr6 There is a Debian 11 Bullseye installer too. Bullseye supersedes Debian 10 Buster. Do you have any particular reason not to try the latest version of Debian for B3?

Mouette, I saw this commit:
> Imported new upstream version 5.10.117
https://github.com/Excito/kernel-5.10/c ... e02f05d339
Does that mean that you'll roll out kernel 5.10.117 as a stable update to all bullseye users now? If so, yay!

Re: End of Arch Linux support for Excito devices
The current release of Debian, 11 Bullseye, has planned LTS - Long Term Support - until June 2026. So you'll get a few years more with Debian.

Annual reminder to replace your RTC batteries
April seems like a good month to make the annual "Remember to check your RTC battery" -month, right? :)
I just opened my B3 and found a small mess of dried up powdery stuff from a leak around the RTC battery.
I suppose I can just try it my self, but does anyone know if the B3 works well entirely ...

Re: Openning the b3
As Gordon mentions the two L-shaped profiles are attached to the hard drive and are the only things that keeps the hard drive in place in the box. The L-profiles themselves are only attached to the hard drive and not screwed to the box. Likewise the hard drive is connected to the B3 circuit board ...

I seem to recall that someone posted the results of network throughput tests here on the forum before. Probably many years ago. If you search the forums you might get lucky.
