I shouldn't have to do that in my opinion. It worked fine running version 2.4.0.1, upgrading to 2.5.0.1 created the read-only-problem. I can connect fine as guest running Linux, so there's no need for 777-permissions on the public share.

This didn't fix it for me.

Were you able to connect as guest to your public share after this adjustment?

Yes, I want to mount the public share on my mac by clicking on it without filling in any credentials. That's what worked with the older version. Never had to give a username or password.

I want to install this image on bubba two on a disk that has been used before for the bubba two. However, I want to start from scratch. How do I need to parition and format my drive?

I tried two sticks, both without luck. Both gave the bubba an IP, but I couldn't reach it.
I ended up removing the drive from the bubba-case breaking the reset-button in the progress because one screw wouldn't turn.
