Is there a migration path (or set of utilites) that can be used to migrate from a B2 to a B3?
I am considering getting a B3 to replace my B2 and then use my B2 for another purpose. It would be nice if there was an easy way to get my configuration and files (accounts, files, email, etc...) from the ...

Re: Bacula on Bubba|2 UPDATE
Since I didn’t get any replies, I decided to go ahead and make the sacrifice.... here’s the deal.
Bacula appears to work fine – but slow. I am a bit disappointed that the version of Bacula is a bit behind the version that Ubuntu uses, but there appears to be little to no incompatibilities – Bubba ...

Re: bubba-networkmanager time out?
Might this have something to do with my resolv.conf naming the bubba as a resolver? My resolv.conf looks like:
Code: Select all
search localdomain
nameserver aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd # This is my bubba's address
nameserver eee.fff.ggg.hhh # DNS 1
nameserver iii.jjj.kkk.lll # DNS 2

bubba-networkmanager time out?
I saw a few references to the bubba-networkmanager, but no one seemed to acknowledge the timing out, stopping, and then restarting issue. Is this an issue? I can’t really see a pattern to when it times out and stops, but the process appears to startup when I hit the Network/LAN web admin page.

Re: XForwarding
I confirm that X11Forwarding does work, but you do have to install the x11-common and xbase-client packages as well as edit the sshd config file.
I installed xterm, which in turn installed x11-common, but not xbase-client. Until I installed xbase-client I couldn't get X11Forwarding to work ...

Bacula on Bubba|2
Has anyone used Bacula on the Bubba|2?
I used it on the server that I swapped out for the Bubba and would like to use it again but am not sure if the Bubba|2 can handle it. Obviously it has an issue with the "built-in" backup facility - Duplicity (or something like that).
If I dont hear something ...

Re: DHCP Server and Static IP Addresses
When you boot your server, the one that is supposed to be (192.168.10.2), what does it say when you query for its IP address. From the console or an xterm, run
ifconfig
You should get something like:
eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr AA:BB:CC:DD:EE:FF
inet addr:xyz.xyz.xyz.xyz Bcast:yyy.yyy.yyy ...
ifconfig

Re: DHCP Server and Static IP Addresses
that is correct... but I think you said that you had 2 servers, so you will want to add the other as well.

Re: DHCP Server and Static IP Addresses
Hi Zander...
Ok.. so you are trying to do exactly the same thing as me. I am sorry I misunderstood the first time.
I would take the approach that I am using such that the Bubba2 server hands the ubuntu server (port 1234) its IP address of 192.168.10.2 as well as its DNS and routing information ...

Hi Zander...
It seems like you are trying to do pretty much the opposite of what I am doing. I am using the Bubba2 as my DHCP and DNS server and wanted it to configure requesting machines with an IP address of my choice rather than a random one. From the thread you linked to, it seems like you are ...

Re: DHCP Server and Static IP Addresses SOLVED
I figured it out.
Bubba2 uses dnsmasq instead of dhcp3-server. This is why I couldn't find the configuration files I was looking for. Now that I know this, configuring dnsmasq is easy. However it must be done as root via SSH and will require the dnsmasq server to be restarted.

DHCP Server and Static IP Addresses
I would like to set my Bubba2 up to issue static IP address for DHCP clients but the web-based setup doesn't seem to have a mechanism to add the static leases and I can't seem to find the appropriate config file to edit.
