Thanks Gordon. Applied the patch last year when I changed the external drive disk. Confirmed U-Boot is 2010.06.
I'll get a new disk on order.
Thanks

Re: B3 Air Cooling Modification
Love what you did wit it. Very cool (pun intended) solution.
Rather than modding my B3 and the external disk, I actually used some old kit I had lying around. I have all mine (as well as a Cisco switch that is always warm) sat on an old recycled laptop cooler. Power via USB port on B3. Virtually ...

Replacing the B3 boot hard drive
Hi all,
It's time to do a routine replacement of my boot hard drive and I'm also planning to upgrade the capacity at the same time. Anything special I need to look out for, or can I just disk clone and go for it?
Thanks
Asparak

Hybrid HDD or SSD for B3
Hi All,
The time has come to replace my HDD's in my B3 and external disk. They are beyond my comfort level in age.
Has anyone experimented with Hybrid HDD's, which have an integrated SSD? would it make any difference?
Anyone swapped the HDD for an SSD?
Thanks

Re: B3 Air Cooling Modification
Why not just use an old laptop cooler? Works perfectly well here, runs off one of the USB ports and the temp of my B3 and external drive never gets warm enough to feel

Re: Announcing B3
Another suggestion. Even if you are not in a position to offer a Motherboard upgrade option now, how about offering your B2 customers a discounted option on a B3 with no hard drives, so that they can just swap their existing drives across to a B3 unit and get the upgrade, with minimum inconvenience ...

Are you in the same workgroup?
Is the user you are logged on to the laptop with authorised to see files on the server?
Is SAMBA running?

Re: rsync problems with diacritics in file names (e.g. "å",
rsync isn't Excito's, its an app with its own support process. Encoding transition issues have plagued unix/linux on all platforms for years, so rsync isn't unique in this.

What mode are you running in? I know of other people having issues with phone reception and results vary depending on how your house is built, but personally I find legacy mode works best for my phones

Yep. Not sure there is a foolproof answer yet. SSH is a tricky one, because the crypto requirements of the SSH part are CPU intensive anyway, so it always has a higher overhead than say telnet or rsh.

I have actually spent several days looking at just this sort of thing a while ago.
I'm not sure packet shaping is going to achieve what you think it will. The limiting factor for the current version of Bubba is actually the CPU and its ability to handle the traffic. Most people who have experienced ...

Re: BUBBA | 2 - WIFI
Hi Mike,
The simple answer would be yes you can in theory. In fact somebody did it a while ago and reported their results in the forums. As long as your wifi card is the right type to fit the socket on the board and is supported by Linux it should work, but I doubt Excito would support you very ...

Re: Setting up vnstat for Bubba|2 WiFi
If your box is built as a standard config, the eth0 is your external interface, eth1 is your internal LAN interface and br0 is the WiFi interface.
If you are only using WiFi, then I would expect eth1 to have virtually no traffic.
I would set up monitoring on br0 as well for a while using my how-to ...
